1. Who we are

Lekker.Build is a trading name of Atypically Digital (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Atypically Digital (Pty) Ltd.

We are the responsible party as defined by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

2. What information we collect

We collect the following personal information when you use our service:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and business name — provided when you sign up.
• Payment information: processed by PayFast (Pty) Ltd. We do not store credit card numbers or bank details.
• Website content: text, images, and design preferences you provide when generating your website.
• Domain registration details: registrant name and address, required by ICANN and domain registrars.
• Usage data: pages visited, feature interactions, and device information — collected via cookies and analytics tools to improve the service.

3. How we use your information

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

• To create, host, and maintain your website.
• To register and manage domain names on your behalf.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send you transactional emails (welcome, payment confirmations, DNS instructions).
• To provide customer support.
• To improve our service and understand usage patterns (analytics).
• To comply with legal obligations.

Under POPIA, we rely on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (sections 11(1)(b) and 11(1)(e)), legitimate interest, and — where applicable — your consent.

4. Third-party service providers

We share data with the following third parties, each acting as an operator under POPIA:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication.
• Cloudflare — website hosting, DNS, and CDN.
• PayFast — payment processing.
• Gandi — domain name registration.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Google Analytics / Meta — website analytics (when enabled).
• Sentry — error monitoring.

Some of these providers store data outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place as required by section 72 of POPIA.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors use lekker.build and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After account cancellation, we retain data for up to 12 months to comply with tax, legal, and dispute-resolution obligations, after which it is securely deleted.

7. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your personal information.
• Object to the processing of your personal information.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data to a commercially acceptable standard.

Lekker.Build is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
